So finally here they are!!! Some pics from the trip so far ;)

Getting ready to hit the road, er... plane:

Arriving at Yasawa's MantaRay:

Bure view, cloudy day :) Best shots showing how clear the water is are on video, so sit tight ;)

Wedding day ;)

Fiji was unbelievable, awesome diving and snorkeling! We woke up at sunrise and jumped in the water almost every day around 6:30!! We saw thousands of fish from a few meters swim in the water, butterfly fish, moray eels, trigger fish, emperors, etc! We did a scuba dive at a site called "Garden of Eden", which was excellent, big coral canyon wall drops, and a lot of fish :)

Sadly we had to leave Fiji paradise! The day out was a bit rough on the water, waves at about 5 meters on the sea, so the ride to the mainland by boat was rough!! A lot of people feeling sick because of the huge waves and the boat jumping up and down like crazy! I was helping a guy that was feeling sick and almost passing out, but when I saw him get sick that was it for me, argh!! I was traumatized :)

We stayed one last night in Fiji on mainland (Nadi), and next day flew to Aussie (Cairns).

Australia!

Cairns is an awesome and happening town, a lot of people and tourists partying on the streets when we arrived. We went out to a cool pub on the esplanade, called "Hattle and Hum". We stayed at a cute place downtown (Hides Hotel), thanks for the hint Mr. J!

Diving the Great Barrier Reef

Next day we went to the lieveaboard with Pro-dive to the Great Barrier Reef (GBR). Gui was like, "oh no, more boating!!!", but he did ok, was just psychological still from the Fiji ride ;) The ride to the reef was a bit choppy, but when we got there it was well worth it! The water is crystal clear, and as soon as the boat stops, huge batfish (about 3 feet), just hang out at the rear of the boat, waiting to be your guides underwater :) The first day was slightly overcast on the first dive, but the sun came up. The visibility is incredible, and the coral and life variety is unbelievable! We did 3 dives on the first day, and one night dive. The night dive was great, and we saw a couple sharks, banded shrimps, and fish galore!

The next day, we did a couple early dives, and another night dive. We did the naturalist and underwater photography especialization for the Advanced course, and took some pics! Our pics skills underwater are still kinda so so, but here are some:

Check this mermaid out! The clam is actually about as big as Jonna:

A lot of large green turtles just hanging around us:

Night dive with some sharkies ;) Not a great shot since the camera is very so so at night, but here is a White Tip reef sharks, about 6 feet. Kinda freaky to be swiming in the dark, then shine your flashlight and a shark your size swimming along with you :)

Moray eel hanging out by the blocks. This one is about 3 meters long, nice and sharp teeth, but was friendly. Gui had to promise Jonna not to get so close next time:

Blue spotted stingray:

We found Nemo!!

Next day we did more dives (were the first ones to jump in the water), and saw more white tip sharks, barracudas, eels, turtles, nemos, etc! We had an awesome time and made great friends! Got our bling Advanced Padi certificates, so watch out ;)

Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation, and Animal Sanctuary:

We went next day to Cape Tribulation about an hour North of Cairns. The area is increduble, beautiful rainforest, and beautiful beaches! We visited Koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and crocs at the animal sanctuary, explored the rainforest in a beautiful walk through the mangroves and trees, and did a boat cruise down the river! We spotted a huge 4.5 meter croc off the boat, "By Crokiee, look at this beauty!"

Sydney:

8/25 - We are in Sydney today, visting the Bandieras so more to come!!

Gui & Jonna's Wild Adventure ;)

Ready? Set? Let go!

Gui and Jonna's next adventure is about to start! So grab your popcorn, wear your comfortable sleepwear (or nothingwear ;), and get ready to share this adventure with us!

A little bit about us:

Gui: Crazy for Jonna (I am writing this to score some points - Just kidding!), crazy about live, and everything wonderful this amazing world has to offer, the beauty in the wolrd, and the beauty in people. I live on the mottos: "You only live once, so if you live good, once is enough", and even though sometimes it gets me in trouble: "I would rather regret from things I did than from things I did not do ;)". I am handsome, intelligent, charismatic, ah, and modest, kidding! I like long walks on the beach... ok, let me start again... hmm better not :P

Jonna: She is a totally delicious Swedish princess, loved, adored, cute, and crazy enough to be my girl :) She is adventurous, and like they say, the quiet ones are the most dangerous. Yep, little did I know what I was getting myself into after seeing that beautiful smile... If you clikced on the Jonna name, you will find out about the same I did: she is beyone definition, and continue to surprise me everyday!

We will add a lot of background, past trips, more info about us, etc as this blog evolves, but hang in there, the best is yet to come :)

Trip Tease:

No you pervert, the title says "trip", not "strip" tease! We are about to embark into another adventure, and we wish to take you along with us (well, I do not have space in my luggage since I am dragging Jonna's 5 suitcases, but if we did we would take you with us, but tag along ;)

We will be embarking soon to a trip to Fiji, Australia, Bali, and a bit of Japan.

Fiji: here are some teaser shots of the place we will be staying, in the Island of Naviti, from the Yasawa islands group. These are not our pictures, but as soon as we have some, they will be up ;)
Yes it looks like people are naked in this picture ;)

There is no place like home, errr.... bure:

some more:

The Wedding :)

We are planning a wedding on the beach, so we finally (1 day before the trip) got things finalized, so much for project management, hehe ;) The wedding wil be on the beach, at sunset, and possibly on the 15th, depending on the weather (there is a Typhoon in China messing things up a bit). Sunset wedding, Fijian singing, flowers on my belle, and lobster and champagne, and me on a leopard print speedo, what more can Jonna ask for? We are very excited, and can not wait!!

We are planning to do a lot of diving and snorkeling on the lagoon, and se mantarays, some sharkies, a lot of coral, and lots of fish :)

After the wedding, we will spend one or two more days in Fiji (Nadi), and fly to Australia.

Back in the Outback ;)

In Aussie we will put the shrimp in the barbie, go play with our dingo dogs, and hunt some crockies and kanga's and feed the Koala's ;) We will arrive in Brisbane, and then to Northeast to Cairns!! Yep, great barrier reef here we go!! Below are the dive sites we are planning to do, and if I can, I will convince Jonna for some more dives.

We are going with Pro-Dive, in a live-aboard, 3 days, 2 nights, for 9 day dives and 2 night dives)so we will stay in the boat virtual tour here

We expect to see some nice sharks, white tips, leopard, black tips, hammerheads, and hopefully no white sharkies, but a picture like the one below would be cool ;)

After so much time time tanning and underwater we will look like raisings :)

From cairns we will go to Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas, and visit the rainforest, and see some roos' (kanga), koala bears and Crocks! She is a beauty!

In Cape tribulation it is possible that I will get a "fix" on my 4 wheeling addiction, hehe ;)

Sydney:

We will then travle to Sydney and visit our missed Bandiera friends (david, Jaci, Ciro and his brand new lil sister!!) We will be there on time for Dave's bday (I will have to pop out of a cake and all) just kidding ;)

I am sure Jonna is up for a bridge climb, so that may happen: http://www.bridgeclimb.com/

but I am not too crazy about the dorky Star Trek like outfit, so who knows ;)

BALI DANCERS!!

"Bali" dancers ;)

From Sydney we will go to Bali, Denpasar, and spend a day in Kuta, then wonder into Ubud for a few days ;) This is bad influence of Juan (hint hint), but Bali seems amazing, a place of another culture, another livestyle, another time...

We will see the beautifull rice fields, temples, culture and art in Bali, and head to Ubud.

Then get spoiled in a resort spa in the mountains. We know it will be tough, but we will sacrifice ;)

Lombok and Gili Air!

After so much time on land, it is time to head back to the water ;) we will be going to Lombok and, and then to Gili air.

We are planning to stay at a really cool and laid back place Juan recommended called "Sunrise", and stay at a rice barn accomodation, close to the beach :)

Like a "cribs" episode, i will need to impress Jonna with a cool ride as well, but I got the hook up from Enterprise rent a horsy!

And we will cruise down to the main strip restaurants, etc in style "fo sho":

Honestly this is a part of the trip we are looking forward a lot, a great place to stay, relax, and kick back. A place to forget about the worries of the world, find some more inner peace and balance, and really enjoy each other :)

Turning Japanese, I really think so!

And all great things must come to an end, but we will make yet one last stop, in japan (Osaka), and shoot for a day trip during our layover :)

We will hit Kansai airport, which is pretty unique, built on the water on a man made island:

and another shot:

we are hoping if we have energy left to take the one day tour ;)

We will miss you all, and will be updating the blog diary throughout the trip, adding our own pictures, etc so keep on checking!

Wish us luck, health, and lots of love!

Love,

Gui & Jonna

;)
